FIELD HOCKEY — E-town Junior Whitney Brown (Manheim Central) scored a goal in Elizabethtown's 4-3 win over McDaniel on Saturday.

Two former Hempfield field hockey players are now on the field for York College. Junior Rachel Hilt is a forward and sophomore Tiff Transue is goal keeper.

Towson junior field hockey goalkeeper Christina Armer (Conestoga Valley) had six saves in 2-0 loss to the University of Richmond on Sunday. Prior to Sunday's game, Armer had allowed only one goal in the last four outings.

X-COUNTRY — Senior Abbey Fergusson (Hempfield) took second (19:06) among D-II/D-III schools and fourth overall, and first-year Darcy McDonald (Warwick) finished fifth overall and third divisionally, as they helped Dickinson's cross country team to capture first place at the Towson Invitational on Saturday.

2nd shutout for Riggins at MU

SOCCER — Millersville sophomore goalkeeper Karrine Riggins (Penn Manor) recorded her second shutout of the season with 14 saves in a double-overtime draw at East Stroudsburg Wednesday afternoon. In Sunday's game against C.W. Post, Riggins finished with 10 saves in a 1-0 loss. Riggins has a 0.55 goals-against average in five games with a 94.6 save percent mark.

FIELD HOCKEY — Bloomsburg junior midfielder Kelly Trevisan (Manheim Township) contributed an assist in a 7-1 field hockey win over Philadelphia University on Sunday.

3 former LL leaguers contribute to Ship field hockey record — the Shippensburg University field hockey team scored nine goals, tying a school record, and moved its record to a perfect 6-0 on the season with a shutout of Philadelphia University, 9-0. Freshman Kimberly Davies (Cedar Crest) scored three goals and one assist. Junior Natalie Grazan (Manheim Central) scored two goals and now has eight goals in six games this season. Fisher is Commonwealth's field hockey player of the week

Senior forward Aftan Fisher (Pequea Valley) helped the Messiah Falcons to a 2-0 start to their season this past week. Messiah defeated Seton Hill and 2004 Final Four participant William Smith. Aftan scored two goals and an assist in the win over Seton Hill and added a goal and an assist in the victory at William Smith. As a result: Aftan was named the Commonwealth Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week.

Sophomore Shauna Enck (Manheim Central) scored a hat trick as Lebanon Valley College's field hockey team defeated Gwynedd-Mercy in the team's season opener Thursday afternoon at the LVC Field Hockey Stadium.

Bunting scores 1st goal of career for E-town

First-year student Wes Bunting (McCaskey) netted Elizabethtown College's first goal of the soccer season and the first of his collegiate career in a 2-1 loss to Rutgers-Camden at Camden, NJ, on Thursday night.

Eby, Downey star in Gettysburg soccer victory

Lauren Eby (Garden Spot) scored first for Gettysburg, striking an unassisted shot from the top of the circle on a penalty corner, in the Bullets 6-0 victory over Juniata on Sunday. On the second Bullet goal, Maura Downey (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Catholic) started a breakaway down the left side by beating her defender and passing the ball to chalk up an assist.

Grazan, Emery key in Ship U. field hockey win

The Shippensburg University field hockey team improved to 4-0 on the season by defeating Mercyhurst College on the road, 7-2. Junior Natalie Grazan (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) continued her fine season with two goals and two assists, and junior Kendra Emery (Lancaster,Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) provided an assist.

Millersville sophomore keeper Karrine Riggins (Millersville/Penn Manor) stopped five New York Institute of Technology shots to record her first Millersville victory in a 2-0 decision Saturday in the Fourth Annual MU Women’s Soccer Kickoff Classic at Pucillo Field.

Kinney is impressive at Kutztown Classic

Kutztown freshman Austin Kinney (Landisville/Hempfield) had an outstanding volleyball tournament at the Kutztown Classic. She put up 38 assists against the Flyers of Mercey College and dazzled the crowd with several awkward position shots and diving stops. For the tournament, Kinney assisted on a total of 124 kills, giving her an average of 12 kills per game.
