MAAC, PSAC swim championships underway

Rider University junior Ryan Mitten (Manheim Twp.) placed seventh in the A finals of the 200 IM and was part of the third-place 400 medley relay team on the first day of the 2006 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships.

On day two of the PSAC Swimming Championships: In the 200 free relay, Bloomsburg junior Courtney Dean (Hempfield) placed third, Lock Haven junior Becca Rhoades (Penn Manor) finished seventh and Kutztown sophomore Sean Bonifas (Hempfield) placed sixth. In the 500 free, Kutztown sophomore Ashley Singer finished second and Clarion sophomore Stevie Coble (Ephrata) placed eighth. In the 200 IM, Bloomsburg freshman Josh Chandler (Donegal) came in 11th. In the 400 medley relay, Bloomsburg Lauren Sterkenberg (Hempfield) placed fifth, Kutztown's Singer finished seventh, Bloomsburg's Chandler placed fourth and Kutztown's Bonifas wound up sixth.
