Juniata's Thomas is AVCA All-American and top freshman

Juniata College freshman Amber Thomas (Conestoga Valley) has been selected to the 2005 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III All-America second team. She was also named the AVCA Division III Freshman of the Year, the first Juniata player to earn that honor since its inception in 2002. The freshman outside hitter was previously chosen as the Mid-Atlantic Region and Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year, while also becoming the first Juniata freshman to earn All-America honors since the 1994 season. Thomas is fourth on the team in kills in her first year, second on the team in digs, and fourth in points.
